Move 4 Life Your Personal Program for Health, Energy & Great Feeling

The non-profit Wellness Institute of Greater Buffalo and its’ community partners want you to MOVE 4 LIFE!

MOVE 4 LIFE is a groundbreaking community campaign to promote physical activity, combining media, technology, the MOVE 4 LIFE program and community events, to help citizens participate in regular physical activity.

“Recent research tells us that 74% of New York State’s adults are not sufficiently active enough to have a positive impact on their health. This community-health promotion campaign will provide our citizens with the opportunity to gain the many health, social, and economic benefits of a physically active lifestyle,” stated Philip Haberstro, Executive Director of the Wellness Institute.

MOVE 4 LIFE recognizes that people come in all shapes, sizes and physical abilities, but no matter where a person is, tailor MOVE 4 LIFE to meet their individual goals. This fun and interactive 8-week program is designed to help increase or maintain an individual’s physical activity level in order to enjoy the benefits of regular physical activity including: lower stress levels, weight management, better sleeping patterns and increased energy.

The U.S. Surgeon General's Report on Physical Activity and Health (1996:www.cdc.gov/nccdphp.srg.htm) stated:

People of all ages can improve the quality of their lives through a lifelong practice of moderate physical activity. You don't have to be training for a Marathon to derive real health benefits from physical activity.

A regular, preferably daily regimen of at least 30-45 minutes of brisk walking, bicycling, or even working around the house or yard will reduce your risks of developing coronary heart disease, hypertension, colon cancer, and diabetes. And if you're already doing that, you should consider picking up the pace!

There are only five things you have to do to get started:
  1. Create an account
  2. Set your personal physical activity goal
  3. Fill out the your registration form
