NYBC Workshop Powerpoint Presentations

These files make up the core of the workshops developed by NYBC. The majority of the photographs are from locations in New York State. Each of the slides is annotated to facilitate the use of the presentation by various presenters. The files are provided in four sections, each of which can be used as a stand alone presentation or as part of a complete program. Each section is described as follows:

Slides 1-24
Overview: Big Picture Issues

This introductory section provides a perspective on major issues facing New York State, including energy, health, environment and quality of life. Images are provided to help make the case that bicycling and walking are important solutions to these issues. Safety is included as a high priority in the context of these issues, with data and trends specific to New York.

Pedestrian Safety

Everyone is a pedestrian, and New York State's communities have traditionally been among the most walkable in the U.S. This section focuses on pedestrian improvements and programs, beginning with issues for pedestrians, identifying perils for pedestrians, and then showing examples of a variety of pedestrian infrastructure and programmatic improvements.
